For many people, chiropractic care is the mainstay of strategies to manage pain. In fact, pain relief is probably the most common reason people seek out a chiropractor in Urbandale or anywhere else. Dr. Michael Wagner and the staff at Family Chiropractor Health Center want to welcome you to our clinic.

Expert Chiropractic Care

Dr. Wagner has been practicing chiropractic since 1991. In addition to his chiropractic training, he has extra expertise in the field of neurology. He has used the Activator method of joint adjustments for some years and is also qualified as an instructor in Activator techniques. Chiropractic care is more than just adjustments, however. Diet and lifestyle are two other major components of health. Sometimes you need supplements to correct micro-nutrient deficiencies that affect the musculoskeletal system and your entire body. Posture analysis can identify factors that contribute to pain and loss of function, while corrective exercises make you stronger and more flexible.

What to Expect

As a new patient, the first step is a free consultation to help determine whether chiropractic care is a good strategy for your situation. We do our best to see new patients within 24 hours of the first contact. Dr. Wagner will perform a complete history and a physical examination, collect information about symptoms and health habits and then make a recommendation for care. Most appointments take 15 to 30 minutes; you will remain fully clothed. The number of treatments you need and the frequency of treatments will depend on your medical needs. At first, you should expect more frequent appointments, with the intervals gradually becoming longer as your condition improves. Even after recovery, you may need occasional maintenance adjustments to prevent problems.

Treatment Modalities and Other Services

In addition to the Activator, Dr. Wagner uses many basic chiropractic treatments such as heat and cold therapy, massage and cold laser treatments. Patient education is an important component of wellness, so we offer a bi-weekly newsletter to patients as well as non-patients. The community content center on our website also includes health and wellness articles. Check out the 3D spine simulator on our website to gain a better understanding of how the spine and nervous system function. We provide care to people of all ages, from infants to seniors.

Whether you’re looking for pain relief or have other health concerns that would benefit from chiropractic care, please think of us as your chiropractor in Urbandale.
